We are hiring a Human Resources Manager for our client – a top performer in the cannabis industry. This is a full-time permanent opportunity in Kelowna, BC.

The Human Resources Manager is also responsible for supporting the day-to-day Human Resources services. Reporting into the Director, Human Resources, this role will work within a team to support employees in all Human Resources disciplines, including policy and program development and implementation, employee relations and performance management, succession planning, and training and development. The ideal candidate will have sound judgment, strong interpersonal skills, comprehensive knowledge, and experience in employment legislation, and thrives in a fast-paced and growing business.


Provide guidance and management coaching to build leadership capabilities to address and resolve employee issues, build morale, and increase productivity and top talent retention
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, and conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations
Support and coach employees on HR policies, procedures, and performance management
Partner with key stakeholders to drive strategies, bring solutions, guide, facilitate and be an effective change agent during all transformational initiatives, ensuring a positive employee experience and alignment with the strategic vision
Partner with leaders on workforce planning, succession planning, training, learning and development and skills assessment
Monitor employment legislative initiatives, anticipate the effects of impending legislation on the organization, and develop action plans and necessary policy updates to ensure timely compliance
Co-ordinate and support People Managers throughout the employee performance appraisals process – probationary and annual
Collaborate with Hiring Managers and Talent Acquisition to support the internal and external recruitment processes, with a continuous improvement approach
Contribute to the Human Resources strategic planning, implementation, execution and roll-out of HR programs and processes
Support and engagement on the internal communication strategy for employees
Partner with Payroll to proactively address payroll issues, train/coach leadership on best practices for Ceridian Dayforce
General maintenance of employee records via the HRIS system
Participate in committees, analytical reporting and other ad hoc projects and initiatives as required



Certificate, diploma or degree in Human Resource Management or related field
Having CHRP designation is an asset
Minimum of 6 years Human Resources experience with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment
Experience with Canadian Employment Standards legislation
Proficiency with MS suite
Strong business and HR acumen. Effective verbal and written communication skills; should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences
Demonstrated ability to coach and influence various levels of management
Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy in written language, data and analysis
Possess an exceptional ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
Ability to identify roadblocks, and provide insightful data with proactive solutions
Ability to work in a fast-paced, fast-growth environment where the business is constantly evolving
Independently driven, initiator, and the willingness to roll up the sleeves and lean-in to get things done
Exercise discretion and sound judgement with the ability to handle sensitive information reliably and professionally
Willingness and ability to travel up to 10%
