The Opportunity


This is a key leadership role within the School of Biological Sciences that encompasses both strategy development and excellent service delivery across the School. You will ensure that stakeholder and customer needs are met now and in the future and ensure our service provision is shaped to meet them.


You will be required to drive forward opportunities and build relationships to deliver high quality postgraduate research admissions and on programme training and support, and lead our team through a time of change to HR processes and systems to deliver an agile, customer-focused service.


Your Skills And Attributes For Success

  • Experience of leading teams through significant, strategically-driven organisational change
  • A style which is proactive and enabling and with the presence and gravitas to operate successfully at all levels of the institution
  • Take the lead in developing partnerships with existing and new cohort funded PhD programmes and proactively identifying new sources of postgraduate research funding.
  • Support the Doctoral College’s vision and service standards and work closely with colleagues across the institution, to provide seamless support for research students during their study
  • Support the Staffing Team to provide an excellent service and deliver changes to processes through the introduction of the People and Money system
